Report From Mike Butler: Business Agent
NORTHERN UPS AND UPS FREIGHT:
The company continues to do observances on package car drivers around the state. They are doing them on a daily basis with up to four management personal in tow. Any method violation is resulting in some sort of disciplinary action taken by the company. I have stated this on more than one occasion follow your methods; make sure you run your route according to how the company has it set up, take your lunch and break according to the contractual language, record deliveries, and pickups at their locations. (G.P.S) is triggered by the information input by you, in your DIAD. Over allowed is being monitored at great lengths by management. S.P.O.R.H. is an issue the company feels ties into Article #37; Fair days work for fair days pay. It is helpful to keep track of situations that may drop your S.P.O.R.H.P.; added miles, splits, bulk stops, and delays.
Do your job the way you were trained to do it and you will have a long career with the company. The primary and alternate stewards do an outstanding job and this Local Union appreciates their diligence.
Report From Kenny F. Duran: Business Agent
UPS: SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO
I would like to start by thanking my stewards and alternates for all their hard work. Drivers, the company is taking a hard stance on over allowed. Remember, follow your 340 methods, take your lunch and break in accordance with the contract, record deliveries, and pickups at their locations. Remember, big brother is watching (G.P.S.) work as if there were a supervisor sitting next to you all day everyday. Article #37; Fair day’s work for a fair day’s pay. S.P.O.R.H. is also a big issue with the company. Keep a daily log if there are certain situations that could drop your S.P.O.R.H. such as: miles, splits, bulk stops delays, etc.
