
Robert D. Younger

Robert
D. Younger began his Teamster career in August, 1970, driving for
Schwerman Tank Line in Louisville, Kentucky.
Moving to Albuquerque, NM, in 1972, Bob drove for Don Ward five years
before becoming a Business Agent for Teamsters Local 492 in August,
1977. He was elected to Local 492's Executive Board as a Trustee
in 1985, and then served as President of the Executive Board from 1988
until 1994 when he was elected Secretary-Treasurer/Principal Officer of
Teamsters Local 492.
Since February, 1997, he has been serving the members as a Trustee for
the Joint Council #3 Executive Board. He is also the Chairman for
the Multi-State Freight Joint State Grievance Committee covering 11
Western States, and is the Over-The-Road Chairman at J.W.A.C. In
addition, he is a panel member for the Car Haul Grievance Panel and on
the United Parcel Service Grievance Panel. Brother Younger was
also appointed to the west United Parcel Service Negotiations by I.B.T.
President James P. Hoffa and the Southwest Rider Negotiations.
IBT President James P. Hoffa also appointed Robert D. Younger as
Chairman of the Over-The-Road Negotiations Committee for the Western
States 2003 through 2008 Freight Agreement and served on the National
Negotiation Committee.
