2024 Safety Incentive Training Update

Attention Teamsters with Southwest Multi-craft:

1/16/2024 -RE: Registrations for upcoming classes

Teamsters Local 492 will begin accepting registrations Jan. 17, 2024 for the Feb.17 and 18 training classes listed below. To register, contact Monique Montoya @ 505-344-1925 Ext.12 between 8:00am and 3:30pm M-F.

Classes: OSHA 10/GHS Haz Com.

When: February 17 and February 18, 2024

Where: Pojoaque NM, Homewood Suites by Hilton conference room. 10 Buffalo Thunder Trail, Santa Fe, NM 87506

Time: Classes will begin @ 0800hrs and run until 1500hrs each day for the OSHA 10 with a lunch break. GHS refresher should conclude after 3hrs each day. Local 492 will provide snacks.

NOTE: Classes will be limited to 25 members for the OSHA 10 and 20 members for the GHS/Haz Com., based on a first come/first served basis and are expected to fill up quickly.

NOTE: Homewood Suites has agreed to a continental breakfast, provided members arrive early.

12/27/2023-This reminder message is for all of those that participate in the Safety Incentive through Southwest Multi-craft (Southwest Service Admin) insurance program.

In an attempt to provide advance notice of upcoming training classes, Local 492 will be sending out blasts as early as possible to assist members with calendar scheduling. Local 492 will be sending out a second blast as scheduled classes draw closer to registration. Local 492 would also like to note that due to Grant Requirement Minimum Participation Requests, in the event that participation does not meet these requirements, the training dept. and Local 492 will be forced to cancel classes. I would also like to note that for the 2022-2023 Qualifying Year in review, the Bonus came out to $29.00 per/point or on average $1500.00/qualified member.

Time: Class will begin @ 0800hrs. and run until 1700hrs. with a lunch break (lunch will be provided by the Local). Homewood Suites has agreed to a continental breakfast, provided members arrive early. At present, Classes will be limited to 10 members/trainer based on a first come first served basis.

When: March 24, 2024. CPR (8hr. skills upgrade)

Where: Teamsters Local 492 Union Hall, 4269 Balloon Park Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109

Time: Class will begin @ 0800hrs. and run until 1700hrs. with a lunch break (lunch will be provided by the Local). At present, classes will be limited to 10 members/trainer based on a first come first served basis.

Reminder: To qualify for the safety incentive through Southwest Multi-craft (SWMC), you will need to have taken an OSHA 10 course in the last THREE (3) years, a GHS/Haz-Com 3-hour course this year, AND an 8-hour Skills Upgrade class each year. The SWMC deadline to take these classes for this year is August 31, 2024.
