Retired From My Job, Not The Teamsters!
The Retiree's of Local 492 meet at the Shoney's on the corner of Louisiana and Menaul on the 1st Tuesday of every month at 8 am. They invite any and all retired Teamsters to come join them. Come meet other Retiree's and join in on the conversation. They always enjoy seeing new faces and hearing new stories.

Report From Phil Tuff, Retiree’s Club President For November-December:
Here we are again with the Holiday Season upon us. This year has been a tough year for many of us, but we are sure hoping we can all have a joyful end of the year.
We need to see more new retirees at our meetings in order to try and keep it going. If any of you out there have any good ideas that should make our meetings more interesting, please get in touch with me, Phil Tuff, at 505-292-4950. Some of our members think we should do something to give back to the community. However, not having any source of income, it is rather hard to do.
Local 492 has a web page on the computer with a page for retirees that you can now access at Teamsters492.org. You may find it interesting, and I will try to keep you updated on it with anything we plan to do.
One thing I would ask of all you retirees are to call your Senators and Representatives and make your views known on this Health Bill they are trying to get passed through Congress. Either way, for or against, or any other legislation you have a view on as we really need to stay involved and keep our Government as it was meant to be. I believe the peoples’ lack of involvement is one reason our government is in the shape it is in today.
