TEAMSTERS COMPETE IN THE 2023 NEW MEXICO TRUCK DRIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

This year there were 25 Teamsters from ABF Freight, Sandia Labs, and Yellow Freight among the 122 drivers that competed in seven different divisions of the championships, from 3 axle to 5 axel trucks and step-van.

Congratulations to all of the Teamsters that competed and those who took home a trophy.

Brother Shawn Hale of ABF Freight took first place in the 3-axle division and will now go on to represent New Mexico at the National Truck Driving Championships in Columbus, Ohio this August.

3 Axle- 2nd place Brother Mike Johnson of Yellow Freight

Flatbed- 2nd place Brother Gerald Benavidez of ABF Freight

Twins- 3rd place Brother Ralph Garcia of ABF Freight

2022 Driver of the 2nd Quarter- Brother Gerald Benavidez of ABF Freight

2022 Driver of the 3rd Quarter- Brother Justin Gallant of ABF Freight

9/11/2025 - The strike against Creamland Dairy has ended after 1 week. Teamsters Local 492 would like to thank all the dedicated Teamsters who took time out of their busy lives to support their Brothers and Sisters at Creamland. We are so proud of our Creamland Teamsters for their sacrifice through the strike in order to get a fair contract.

DFA TEAMSTERS VOTE TO AUTHORIZE STRIKES Work Stoppages Expected to Cause Major Disruptions to Dairy Supply Chain For Immediate Release - June 3, 2025 (NATIONWIDE) – More than 1,000 Teamsters have voted to authorize strikes at Dairy Farmers of America (DFA).

SYSCO NM TEAMSTERS RATIFY CONTRACT

SYSCO NM TEAMSTERS RATIFY CONTRACT 4/22/2025 - Sysco members have ratified a new contract with 85% voting yes. The four-year agreement covers warehouse and drivers. The new agreement includes the highest wage increase and pension contributions Sysco has ever given in New Mexico, including Southwest multi-craft health insurance.

SYSCO NM CONTRACT RATIFICATION MEETINGS To: All members in good standing at SYSCO Three (3) Contract Ratification meetings will be held, beginning on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 5:00pm, and two on Saturday, April 19, 2025. The first meeting on Saturday, April 19, 2025, will begin at 11:00 am, with the second meeting beginning at 4:00pm.

ABF Profit Sharing To Be Paid Feb 19, 2025

2/3/2025 - On Friday, ABF announced that it achieved a 91.2% operating ratio for 2024. As a result, the profit-sharing provisions of the 2023-28 ABF NMFA have been triggered. Specifically, qualified members (generally those employees who were on the seniority list from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024) will receive a bonus of 1% of their 2024 earnings.
