Current Campaigns
  • The International Brotherhood of Teamsters is closely monitoring the global health crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Working with other unions, public health officials and other experts in our Safety and Health Department, the Teamsters Union is focused on providing our affiliate locals, 1.4 million members, and staff with the most up-to-date information and resources to help everyone in this difficult time.

Many Teamster members across multiple industries are seeing the effects of the widespread transmission of the disease caused by the virus, known as COVID-19. These workers are at increased risk if they frequently interact with potentially infected or infected individuals.

  • The Teamsters Dairy Conference will continue to update Local Unions and our nearly 5,000 Teamster members working at Dean Foods on key developments in the bankruptcy case. We will post relevant newsletters, articles and key dates in this space.

  • Workers’ pensions are being endangered by both Congress and those charged with overseeing them. The Teamsters and our members are standing united to say “No!” to cuts and “Yes!” to greater retirement security!

  • On May 22, Hertz declared bankruptcy. The Teamsters Industrial Trades Division will continue to update local unions, and the nearly 6,000 Teamsters at Hertz and its affiliates, on key developments in the bankruptcy. We will post relevant information in this space.

Update in 492 Union Hall Meetings and Functions

3/24/2020 - Due to the Corona Virus Covid-19 issues and for the safety of all involved, the 492 Office will be operating the Union Hall during normal business hours, but the doors will be closed to the public. Any scheduled meetings, pension appointments and other functions at the Union Hall are tentative and subject to cancellation. For the latest updates on meetings and functions, please go to the website before coming to the union hall as they may have been canceled.

Instead of driving to the union hall, we ask that you please call or email your agents instead so that we can limit the social interaction and hopefully get this COVID-19 under control as soon as possible so everyone can go back to their normal lives. There has been a massive increase in the volume of phone calls and emails, but the 492 Business Agents and Staff will continue to work diligently to respond to you as soon as possible.  We also highly recommend that you make an appointment if you need to physically talk to your business agent or the staff. There is a mail slot on the south side of the building (downstairs) if you need to drop of grievances, mail, dues payments, etc.
