Hundreds of NM 492 Teamsters Send UPS Clear Message

7/15/2023 - Teamsters Local 492 would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you that came out for the 492 Practice Picketing at New Mexico UPS locations including Albuquerque, Alamogordo, Las Cruces, Roswell & Santa Fe NM. Today at the UPS Comanche Center, we had over 300 people show up.

It was great to see all of you and we greatly appreciate all of the support shown and sending a clear message to UPS that the Teamster members in NM are serious about getting the contract they deserve! The Teamsters have repeatedly made clear that UPS members will not work beyond the expiration of the current contract. In June, rank-and-file UPS Teamsters authorized a strike by an overwhelming 97 percent.

On April 03, 2020, a grievance was filed to enforce the forty-hour language in our contract. This grievance was filed during the Walter Maestas administration, in the early stages of Covid-19.
