  • The International Brotherhood of Teamsters is closely monitoring the global health crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Working with other unions, public health officials and other experts in our Safety and Health Department, the Teamsters Union is focused on providing our affiliate locals, 1.4 million members, and staff with the most up-to-date information and resources to help everyone in this difficult time.

Many Teamster members across multiple industries are seeing the effects of the widespread transmission of the disease caused by the virus, known as COVID-19. These workers are at increased risk if they frequently interact with potentially infected or infected individuals.

  • The Teamsters Dairy Conference will continue to update Local Unions and our nearly 5,000 Teamster members working at Dean Foods on key developments in the bankruptcy case. We will post relevant newsletters, articles and key dates in this space.

  • Workers’ pensions are being endangered by both Congress and those charged with overseeing them. The Teamsters and our members are standing united to say “No!” to cuts and “Yes!” to greater retirement security!

  • On May 22, Hertz declared bankruptcy. The Teamsters Industrial Trades Division will continue to update local unions, and the nearly 6,000 Teamsters at Hertz and its affiliates, on key developments in the bankruptcy. We will post relevant information in this space.

The Executive Board, Business Agents and office staff were on hand and enjoyed meeting and talking to the Members in this social atmosphere. This year’s theme was Teamster History and everyone enjoyed the free food featuring Popeye’s Chicken, the free Teamster shirts for Members, and face painting for the kids. We also gave away a 40" Flat screen TV, Sound Bar, Tools, Lobo ice chest, and whole lot more including 30 gift bags full of Teamster History books, Teamster History DVD, and also some 492 Teamster swag. The kids who attended received a free Teamster Ring Disc Frisbee. The three most sought after prizes were the TV, won by Ameripride Driver Anthony Perea, and the two custom made 492 Teamster Disk-it’s, won by Ameripride Driver Alonzo Rivas & ABF retiree Albert Perea).

The Teamsters Joint Council #3 Truck was there thanks to Retired 455 Vice President, Jim Adams, who drove it down from CO.

We also heard your requests from last year, and ordered many Teamster Local 492 products for people to purchase including Hats, shirts, lapel pins, coffee mugs, window decals, lunch bags and more. Click Here to view the product list with pictures and prices.
