Film Industry 'Waiting-To-Be-Contacted List'
If you are looking for a Movie/Film driver job, YOU MUST HAVE A Class A CDL. Your name will be automatically deleted from the waiting list if you don’t have a Class A CDL*. Please read this entire page** before filling out the "Waiting-To-Be-Contacted” online form. 1/31/2022 Update: We currently have hundreds of NM Resident Class A CDL Drivers and/or wranglers interested in seeking work as a Teamster Movie Driver who are on our "Waiting-To-Be-Contacted” spreadsheet that must be called before we can call anyone new. We are no longer returning phone calls from interested Movie job seekers due to the super high volume of calls. Please do NOT call and please do NOT come to the Union Hall seeking work in the Movie industry. CALLING AND/OR HARASSING THE UNION WILL NOT EXPEDITE YOU. We understand you want/need work, but we strictly call people in the order they signed up using "Waiting-To-Be-Contacted” online form. The ONLY way you will have an opportunity to use our Electronic Call Board, is to fill out the "Waiting-To-Be-Contacted” online form and then wait for us to contact you. Completing "Waiting-To-Be-Contacted” online form does NOT mean you are on the exhausted list, it is a "Waiting-To-Be-Contacted” online form. Filling out this form does NOT put your name out for hire. It simply gets you in line to be contacted when we have room on our Exhausted List for you to apply. It may take months or years to get your name on the list, so please be patient. If you meet the qualifications, you will be contacted when we get down to your name on the waiting list (called in order of received). There is no need to “checkup” on where you are on the list, as that information is not known to the Film Agent until we download the next set of names from this website's Film Industry "Waiting-To-Be-Contacted” online form, which is only done when we need more drivers/wranglers than we already have. If you would like to be contacted when we need more drivers and/or wranglers, please fill out the “"Waiting-To-Be-Contacted” online form by clicking the link at the bottom of this notice. Once we contact you, you must submit all the proper paper work and pay the one-time $750 set up fee to get your info into the system and create an electronic profile for you so that you are able to seek work from our Electronic Call Board (ECB). Once the above is submitted, every single day of the week, we will send your name and information, like qualifications, to production companies for possible hire, if you make yourself available in our ECB. You will be responsible for logging into the system daily in order to be available for work the next day. (We will send you a courtesy email reminder every day at 8:30 pm that you can simply click on to let Productions know you are available for a work call the next day. If you don’t want to work, simply ignore the email.) There is no monthly cost for you to stay on our ECB availability list, but once you are hired, 3% of your gross wages will be submitted as a referral fee whenever you do work. Those funds help to cover the administrative costs of negotiating and enforcing the dozens of Local 492 Movie Agreements signed each year with production companies and also help to recoup the costs of allowing you to seek work in our ECB for free for an indefinite period of time. We want you to feel free to use our system to seek work without having to worry about monthly dues when you are not working. The “Exhausted List” has been created to make it possible for individuals such as yourself to be put on a daily list of available drivers with no monthly cost to seek work!!! There is no guarantee of employment and you do not need to be a member of Local 492, but our ECB will give you an opportunity to work in the industry. *You must have a valid Class A CDL, DOT medical card and current MVR, unless you are applying to be a Wrangler only (no driving). If you want to be a Wrangler/Driver, you must meet the Driver requirements as well. **The Union reserves the right to remove you and/or by-pass you from this "Waiting-To-Be-Contacted” spreadsheet for cause, which includes, but is not limited to: Not a NM resident, Driver without a Class A CDL, directly contacting productions to solicit Teamster Film work, harassing union officials, submitting false documents and/or false/untruthful info, currently on another 492 roster, owe the union fees that are overdue, etc. If a production company calls you for work and you accept, but your name was not yet available to the production company from our system, otherwise known as “street hire”, you will be removed from this "Waiting-To-Be-Contacted” List and the Union will not offer you a place on their Electronic Call Board. Please read all of the above information before clicking this link; "Waiting-To-Be-Contacted” online form.
