Extension of Health Insurance Coverage for August 2023 For Yellow Teamsters

FROM: Board of Trustees of the Western Teamsters Welfare Trust

7/27/2023-Participants Employed by Yellow (YRC/Reddaway) - As you may be aware, Yellow (YRC/Reddaway) has failed to pay its July 2023 contribution payment to the Western Teamsters Welfare Trust (WTWT) for June 2023 hours worked, which would’ve provided for August 2023 eligibility. Due to the lack of payment, your WTWT eligibility was scheduled to terminate at midnight on July 31, 2023.

Given the extraordinary circumstances and the negative impact Yellow’s non-payment would have on you, the WTWT participants, the Board of Trustees has acted to extend August 2023 coverage to the Yellow (YRC/Reddaway) employees who were reported as working the required hours in June 2023, even though Yellow’s contribution for June 2023 hours has not been received yet. The Trust will continue to seek the required contributions from Yellow.

Receipt of this letter does not guarantee eligibility. It is dependent on you having worked the required hours in June 2023 and being on Yellow’s contribution report. If you have any questions regarding your eligibility, please contact the Trust Administration Office at (800) 872-5439.

UPS Cola Update 2026

RE: Cost-of-Living (COLA) Adjustment of $0.22 on August 1, 2026 Inflation triggered a 2026 COLA increase of $0.22 per hour and 0.55 cents per mile under the 2023-2028 National Master United Parcel Service Agreement. The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) increased to a level of 328.829 points ( 1982-84= 100) in May 2026.
